Forever a Connection is a short video documentary produced by Heart of the Lakes, and “tells the story of Jessica Nelson, of Munising MI. Jessica is the owner of Vanlandschoot & Sons Commercial Fishery, and talks of her deep connection to the land and Lake Superior through her roots as a member of the Sioux Tribe. Jessica passionately believes that the cleanliness and health of Lake Superior is vital, as it guarantees the freshness and health of the fish she catches and feeds to her customers. Home to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, the bay that she considers home is beloved by those who live on it, and the community that is built around it. Jessica speaks to the power of the Great Lakes, and feels that the best way to appreciate them is through paddling, hiking, and directly connecting.”
